Internships are usually granted for three or six semester hours. It is usually advantageous to the student to take two internships of three semester hours each rather than one of six semester hours. Two, three hour internships, usually give the student broader and more varied experiences and less repetition normally occurs than when the student interns in a single place for six semester hours. For each semester hour of credit, it is assumed that the student will put in between thirty-nine to forty-five hours of work. Thus for a three semester hour internship it is necessary to work 120 hours. |
