Student Learning Specialist (part time, 4 positions)

 

 

Student Learning Specialists

 

Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking four qualified applicants for the part-time Student Learning Specialist position. This is a fifteen-hour per week, twenty-eight week, grant-funded position renewable for up to five years. Learning specialists will provide direct one-on-one, small group and workshop tutoring in at least one of these areas of specialization: critical reading, general statistics, social science research methods, college mathematics, science, business and accounting. Under the supervision of the Director, successful candidates will work collaboratively with an academic services center and network staff, faculty and students.

 

Qualifications: Three to five years experience in a college-level tutoring program; Masters degree or currently enrolled in Masters degree program in a related field; experience with a team oriented approach to instruction and academic support services; and demonstrated ability to work effectively with multicultural, low income and first generation student populations. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
