Mr. Angelo Simoni, University Judicial Officer

Angelo Simoni serves as the University Judicial Officer at Eastern Connecticut State University and oversees the operations and administration of the Office of Judicial Affairs and the University judicial process.   

As the University Judicial Officer, he coordinates the judicial system on campus, as well as providing education and referral for students in the area of substance abuse prevention, mediation services, academic integrity training and community service.   

Angelo has worked at Eastern for the past three years as a Residence Hall Director in the office of Housing and Residential Life.  During his time in Housing, Angelo assisted the previous University Judicial Officer in managing the office of Judicial Affairs case load and helped to hear both minor and high-level violations of the Student Code of Conduct.  Angelo graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in Marketing, with a minor in Justice and Law Administration, and from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Master's Degree of Science in Organizational Management.

 

Ms. Irene Cretella, Administrative Assistant

Irene Cretella is Administrative Assistant in the Offices of Judicial Affairs, the Center for Community Engagement and Wellness Promotion. Having worked at Eastern since 1995, Irene has served in this capacity in other offices within the Division of Student Affairs: Dean of Students, Career Services and Housing and Residential Life. She has assisted, as needed, in the President’s

Office, the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Intercultural Center and the Women’s Center. 

Irene has coordinated the American Red Cross blood drives at Eastern since 1991. This program has expanded from two to four blood drives per academic year with exceptional attendance of donors and volunteers at each drive. She has assisted the Vice President for Student Affairs with “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges”. Irene has been instrumental in updating and developing many of the Student Affairs offices’ web pages.

Her personal interests include volunteering at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, the Windham Area Interfaith Ministries (W.A.I.M.), taking evening classes as a part-time student, and overall physical fitness activities such as biking, swimming, walking, and Zumba classes.  Irene has been married for 37 years and has three sons.
