MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- Field hockey continued to struggle on the offensive end, sustaning its seventh loss this year by shutout in a 3-0 setback at Wesleyan University Thursday night.
Since drubbing Wheelock College three weeks ago, Eastern (1-10), Eastern has dropped seven in a row, scoring only four goals in the process. Unbeaten against Eastern in six meetings in this series, Wesleyan (3-5)won for the first time after two straight losses.
Eastern sophomore goalie Danielle Reichardt (Ocean Township, NJ), the Little East Conference leader in saves per game, posted double-digit saves for the fourth time this year, stopping a career-high 13 shots before departing with nine minutes left on the short end of 3-0 score.
Eastern visits conference co-leader Framingham State College Saturday at 2 p.m.
