Against Valiants, he spaces four singles in career-high seven innings
MANSFIELD, Conn. - Sophomore righty Greg Porter (Mystic) scattered four singles over the first seven innings and sophomore second baseman Danny O'Connell (Braintree, MA) had two hits and drove in two runs as No. 15 ranked Eastern Connecticut State University won its sixth straight baseball game, 7-0, over Manhattanville College at the Eastern Baseball Stadium Wednesday night.

Porter (3-0) struck out seven without a walk and junior righty Matt Purnell (Stafford Springs) and senior righty Michael Hepple (Newington) completed Eastern's (22-6) second shutout of the season with one hitless inning apiece.
Eastern led 4-0 after three innings on the strength of O'Connell's first career home run - a two-run blast in the second - and an RBI single by senior leftfielder Steve Cammuso (Rutland, MA) and bases loaded walk in the third.
Sophomore DH Adam Roderick (West Hartford) had his team-leading 16th multiple-hit game of the year with a single and RBI double and sophomore rightfielder Mike Vaccarelli (Wolcott) also had two hits, scored a run and drove in one for Eastern.
In a career-high seven innings, Porter never allowed more than one hit in an inning. He surrendered a one-out single in the second, leadoff single in the third, two-out single in the fourth and one-out single in the seventh.
Sean Ferguson had two of Manhattanville's (12-15) hits.
Eastern hosts defending Little East Conference tournament champion Rhode Island College Saturday in a noon doubleheader.
