At HC Hept, Hultzman collects record 3,709 points and Gingras has 3,648
WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Lauren Hultzman (Putnam) and junior Cora Gingras (East Hampton) both broke the Eastern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field heptathlon record at the College of the Holy Cross Heptathlon Wednesday and Thursday at the Hart Track.

Hultzman, also the indoor pentathlon program record-holder, established a record 3,709 points Thursday, with Gingras netting 3,648. Both broke Gingras' previous record of 3,477 points, set last May at the New England Division III Championships at MIT.
In a field of Division I, II and III competitors, Hultzman placed ninth overall and Gingras was 11th.
On Wednesday in the 100 hurdles, Hultzman was timed in 17.29 and Gingras 17.37; Hultzman ran the 200 meters in 28.78 and Gingras 28.61; Hultzman jumped 5-3 and Gingras 5-0 ½ in the high jump; and Hultzman threw the shot put 28 feet, 8 1/3 inches and Gingras was marked at 28-6 ¾.
Thursday, Hulzman long jumped 15-6 ½ and Gingras 15-3 ½; Hultzman threw the javelin 103 feet-2 inches and Gingras 71-7 ½; and in the 800, Hulztman was clocked in 2:50.76 and Gingras 2:32.23.
