Sophomore Lauren Hultzman (above) became the first Eastern female to finish first in the New England Alliance/Little East Conference high jump event Saturday at the NEA/LEC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Westfield State University. Hultzman, who was the first Eastern female to win the NEA/LEC indoor title this past February, cleared 5-3 3/4 Saturday and Eastern junior Cora Gingras was second in both the NEA and LEC scoring with a mark of 5-2 1/4. Six Eastern competitors earned a total of 15 honors. Hultzman was also third in the LEC in the 100 hurdles and Gingras was also third in the LEC in the long jump and triple jump and sixth in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump in the NEA scoring. Sophomore Amy Huhn was third in the NEA and second in the LEC in the pole vault, senior Amanda Quinones fifth at 5000 meters in the NEA, sophomore Katie France eighth in the NEA at 1500 meters and sophomore Alexa Palasky was fourth in the NEA and third in the LEC at 10,000 meters. As a team, Eastern was eighth among ten teams in NEA scoring and fouth among six teams in LEC scoring.
