Awards Banquet: 102 Athletes Honored

A total of 102 student-athletes and one team were honored Sunday night at the annual Athletic Awards Banquet at the Betty Tipton Room. A total of 52 seniors and 40 scholar-athletes were presented plaques, with other awardees including the Bonnie J. Edmndson Senior Female SportsPerson-of-the-Year and Francis E. Geissler Senior Male SportsPerson-of-the-Year Award, the Male and Female Athlete-of-the-Year, Male and Female Rookie-of-the-Year and the Individual Sport Athlete and Rookie-of-the-Year. Also recognized was the women's cross country program, which received the Faculty Athletic Representative Award for academic excellence.Pictured above are the recipients of the Edmondson and Geissler recipients. Carl Appel (soccer) was named Male Athlete-of-the-Year and Molly Rathbun (softball) Female Athlete-of-the-Year, Adam Roderick (baseball) Male Rookie-of-the-Year and Kristina Forsman (basketball) Female Rookie-of-the-Year, Nadine Menard (women's swimming) Individual Sport Athlete-of-the-Year and Rachael Thatcher (women's swimming) Individual Sport Rookie-of-the-Year.
