After sweeping Westfield Friday night, they drop pair Saturday
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Eastern Connecticut State University women's volleybal team went 1-2 at the Springfield College Invitational Friday and Saturday, sweeping Westfield State University Friday night and dropping a 3-2 decision to Rivier College Saturday morning and and losing in three sets to host Springfield College Saturday afternoon in the tournament semifinals.

Senior libero Erynn Miller (Stratford) represented Eastern on the all-tournament team. In 11 sets over two days, Miller led the Warriors with 42 digs.
Other top players for Eastern included freshman outside hitter Adrianna Mihalek (Woodbury), who had a team-high 34 kills in 11 sets and 26 digs; freshman outside hitter Ashley Adams (Mystic) with 20 kills in 11 sets, freshman middle hitter Kay Mullen (Fairhaven, MA) with 19 kills and four blocks, and sophomore right-side hitter Bry Kelly (Dunbarton, NH) with 14 kills and four service aces in 11 sets.
Junior setter Jess Patrizi (Beacon Falls) led Eastern with 44 assists in 11 sets, junior setter Allie Henry (Middletown) with 41 in 11 sets. Sophomore defensive specialist Allie Luppi (Tewksbury, MA) followed Miller with 31 digs and three service aces in 11 sets.
Eastern collected 16 service aces and commited only nine reception errors in three matches, but was guilty of 22 service errors and attacked at only .115 (as compared to its opponent's .269).
Eastern competes at Wesleyan University Friday at 7 p.m.
