The Center for Early Childhood Education at Eastern Connecticut State University will be hosting Closing the Achievement Gap Through Preschool Literacy on Friday, November 30, at 3:30 pm. The event will include a brief program on the critical importance of early childhood education in addressing the achievement gap in Connecticut. The event will also include a premiere of "Inspiring Lessons: What We Learned from the Community Partners for Early Literacy Project," a 30-minute video about the Center's effort to improve the language and early literacy skills of preschoolers in Willimantic.
