Willimantic, Conn. - Eastern Connecticut State University will celebrate Native American History Month in November with several events and activities. The public is invited. Admission is free.
On November 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Julianne Jennings, part-time professor of anthropology, will present a film series in the Student Center Café titled, "We Shall Remain," which will showcase the natives of New England and their struggle for freedom. A panel discussion and light refreshments will follow.
On Nov. 11, from noon to 1:30 p.m., the Intercultural Center will host a "Mix-It-Up Luncheon" in the Student Center Café, where participants will discuss a range of issues. Refreshments will be served.
On Nov. 17 from noon to 3 p.m., in the Betty R. Tipton Room and the Student Center Café, the Intercultural Center will present a "Native American Celebration" that will include basket weaving, pottery, artifacts, musical demonstrations, Native American food and much more.
