As the end of the academic year is upon us, there are always things to do in order to finish off the year successfully. In that spirit, the Office of Student Activities are asking for all SGA recognized Clubs and Organizations to take care of a little business before jetting off to your summer destinations.
1. Since most clubs and organizations require to hold elections prior to summer break, we are asking that all clubs hand in their authorized signature forms for the 2009-10 academic year. By handing this in prior to the summer break, it will ensure that all incoming students for the Fall 2009 semester will see up to date information upon their return to campus. It is also possible to reserve your club meeting spaces for the fall semester by filling out a facilities request form and handing it in to the approrpiate individual as listed on the form.
2. The President's Picnic/Student Activities Fair will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. with a raindate of Tuesday, September 8, 2009. For those who have not attended the fair in the past, this is a great opportunity during the first week of classes to recruit new members. As the event occurs when Hurley Hall is closed for dinner, it ensures that all students on a meal plan who choose to eat that night will be at the event. What do you need to do? You need to reserve a spot for your club. What do we do? We provide a table and two chairs and label the table with your club name. You can decorate your table, provide handouts for prospective members, etc. In order to reserve a spot, please contact Margo Mulholland in the Student Activities Office at 465-0036 and let her know the club that will be in attendance with a contact person's name, phone number, and e-mail address.
3. Be sure to pay all outstanding bills before leaving for the break. The last day that you can spend any money out of your Spring 2009 budget account is June 30, 2009. After this date, the money allocated to you will no longer be available to you.
If you have any questions regarding any of these items, be sure to contact John Bazin in the Office of Student Activities.
