On April 19, 2009, 20 members of the Eastern Connecticut State University Education Club were honored at the CEA (Connecticut Education Association) Student Program Annual Apple Banquet at Central Connecticut State University. Education Club members from all of the Connecticut State University schools were present along with students from the University of Connecticut and Quinnipiac University.
Eastern's Education Club members received a certificate of achievement along with a book to use in their future classrooms. Student Chelsea Fertman was awarded with the President's Award for being the most active member of Eastern's club.
The CEA Teacher of the Year and several officers addressed the group and thanked all of the members for contributing to the success of their clubs.
