Eastern's chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) recently held its annual induction of new members. Founded in 1914 at Washington and Lee University, ODK believes that leaders of exceptional quality and versatility in college life should cooperate in worthwhile endeavors. Furthermore, they believe that outstanding students, faculty and staff should meet on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness.
The Eastern chapter of ODK inducted twenty-eight students and one faculty member this year. The average GPA of this year's inductee's is an astounding 3.72. They represent a multitude of campus programs and activities on campus including Student Government Association, Campus Activity Board, Summer Orientation Counselors, Resident Assistants, Honors Scholars, First Year Program Peer Mentors, Pathways to Leadership, athletics teams and clubs and organizations.
"This year's inductees have shown both commitment and promise to the ideals of service and leadership that our society holds dear" said chapter president Kristen Fitzsimons. Eastern is currently the only circle in New England, inducting over 300 faculty, students, alumni, and honorary members to date.
