Admissions requirements include the following:**
- Baccalaureate degree (BA or BS) from an accredited college/university in any field
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- Completion of prerequisite courses with a grade of B or better in each course
- Two favorable letters of recommendation from recent employer and/or faculty
- Original transcript(s) from any post-secondary institution attended
- All applicants must have an interview with member(s) of the ACE admissions committee
Admissions Process:
Students interested in the Accelerated Career Entry (ACE) program in nursing must complete a dual admission process.
- IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE 2010 ACE COHORT, you must apply to the university by September 1, 2009. You apply online to the university, http://southernct.edu/admissions/applications/ .Check ACE as your program choice and check term start of Spring 2010 (if accepted you would not be starting until August of 2010. It is the applicant's responsibility to make sure all required information and documentation is submitted to SCSU's Admissions Department by the above deadline. You MUST already have your Bachelor's degree by September 1 in order to eligible to apply to the university for the ACE program.
- The second part of the admissions process is to submit the ACE application and all required documentation to SCSU's Department of Nursing. The applications to begin the ACE program in August 2010 will be available online, under Southern's nursing website, November 1, 2009 and must be completed in full and returned by January 15, 2010 in order to be considered as a viable applicant. You will be notified in early April or your acceptance or denial into the program. At the time of ACE application due date you MUST already hold either a BA/BS degree. Please note that applicants cannot apply to our traditional BSN program and the ACE program.
