Overview

Hello and welcome to my web page. I have a Ph.D. in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Old Dominion University  in Norfolk, Virginia and a M.S. and B.S. in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Virginia Commonwealth University  located in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia. My academic interests include Mathematical modeling of cancer growth and wound healing.

Study Tips For Success (BEGIN ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS)

• You should study several times a day (2 -3), in short time intervals (30 minutes), everyday of the week. 
  (This is approximately 7 - 10 1/2 hours per week)
   
• Collaborate.  Study groups can increase your enjoyment of the learning process.
   
• Learn math vocabulary.
   
• Emphasize understanding mathematical concepts as opposed to memorization.
   
• Learn to identify equations/functions.
   
• Use the mathematical concept practice sheets for developmental math courses.  These are located in the MAC.

• Use the chapter summaries and course summaries for developmental math courses.  These can be downloaded from
  the Developmental Mathematics Program website.  See DMP link above.
   
• For other math courses, develop your own summary sheets and concept maps.
   
• Do not hesitate to seek help. Ask your instructor and/or visit the MAC.  When help is needed, sooner is always
  better than later.
